White
I've been wanting to enter a photo on the weekly challenge of I heart faces for awhile now. Every week I think I have the perfect photo for the contest but for one reason or another I never get around to submitting the photo. This week the theme is "white" -- well now for sure I have the perfect picture that fits the theme and very appropriate since its a picture of my daughter "Bianca" -- Bianca is an Italian name meaning "white," she was named after my late mother "Blanca" -- Spanish for White.
You can see this entry and many other amazing photos at I heart faces.

1st Birthday Princess / Birthday Party Part 1
Planning my daughter's 1st birthday party started right after her baptism party was over – 6 months before her 1st birthday to be exact. Yes! I know, I'm crazy… but what can I say, I just love party planning. The theme my husband and I wanted for our little girl was very appropriate – "1st Birthday Princess." So we started looking at what choices where available at party supply stores. Well the choices were very limited, repetitive and not "cute" enough for our precious princess. So I was on a mission – my first spot for "research": ETSY. I absolutely LOVE Etsy. Not only are the items handmade, but they are unique because they can be customized to meet your needs or in my case satisfy my need for "totally cuteness." That's where I found an amazing graphic designer, Linette from PaperGlitter. PaperGlitter offers printable birthday party kits, stationary, paper crafts and even paper toys – oh yeah and did I mention Linette is also a toy designer?! How cool is that?!!! PaperGlitter has the most adorable kawaii characters for all types of parties. Her printable party kits theme include: Birthday Princess, Birthday Paris Kit, Kawaii Donuts Kit and adorable Luau Party Kit.
Once we decided on this theme the colors were easy to choose: Pink, Orange and Yellow. I've always believed that kid's birthday parties should be full of vibrant colors.
Here are the decorations & goodies in process:

{invitations being ready to be mailed out}
Even though I started party planning 6 months before the actual party date the days flew by and I still had a lot to accomplish before the big day, so I recruited the help of relatives.

{… to be continued… }
In the next post I will be sharing actual picture of the parties. Hope to see you then!

Hello friends!

Now I'm more backed-up than ever in updating the blog but in the few days to follow I will be posting free printables for Mother's Day, my daughter's 1st birthday party blog post, and preview of projects that I'm currently working on.
So stay tune!
P.S: Did ya miss me?!

Marketing Postcards
My sister in law makes the cutest bows for little girls. She can design and customized hair bows to match an outfit for that special occassion, or just bows for everyday use and even seasonal bows, which I love!
I made her these postcards for her facebook page using my daughter as a model -- see how cute the flowers looks on little girls!
If you would like her contact information you may reach her through her facebook page: Designs by Diana.

Modern Baptism / Bautizo con colores modernos
One of my “many” secret passions: party planning. I get a thrilled to know that I planned, created and decorated everything for a party. Everything from the invitation, centerpieces, to the remembrance card was made by me.
The venue was decorated in pink with brown as an accent color. Tables were decorated with centerpieces of baby’s breath (Gypsophila) flower bunch in tall-straight-round vases wrapped in a custom-made paper with damask graphic – which was part of the theme.
The lunch menu was an assortment of “pastelitos or Cuban pastries” which included, ham croquets, ham and cheese sandwiches (media noches), cheese pastries, guava pastries, and ham paste sandwiches (bocaditos). The main course was Imperial Rice (Arroz Imperial).
For dessert were delicious and mouth-watering cupcakes in 3 different flavors: Oreo’s, Guava and my personal favorite, Dulce de Leche. They were made by my outstanding baker-friend, Roly –Thank you Conchi! I designed and created the cupcake toppers and wrappers. The cake was made by my creative and part-time baker husband. It was a delicious chocolate and vanilla cake with dulce de leche filling, covered in pink fondant. Decorated with a baptism gown and its shoes, which were a hit! – The shoes came out very realistic. The refreshments were beer, sangria and a variety of soda drinks.
This party was a success. I got so many compliments especially because the colors were non-traditional of a baptism. Hope it’s an inspiration for your party!
Special Thank you's:
To my hubby, for putting up with my craziness.
To my sisters and my niece, Julia, for staying up to 2 in the morning cutting cupcake wrappers and cupcake topper circles.
To my conchi, for always making my parties a hit with his super moist and delicious cupcakes.
To my daughter, for letting me take 357 photos of her without complaining or crying.
I love you all dearly.

Gracias:
